Google has just refurbished its Drive app for Android. The latest version brings few minor but significant changes.
The company did not detail much about the update on its Play Store page, it’s only given as ‘Bug fixes and other improvements’. But, once you grab the update and get started, you will discover few notable changes within the app.
Now the updated version offers a Holo Light interface to make the content easier on the eyes. You will also have a new ‘Create’ button on the bottom menu bar that presents quick action buttons for uploading a file, creating a document, scanning in a picture or document. You can also swipe down to refresh your Drive.
Spreadsheets have also been improved with few noteworthy changes: You can now merge or split multiple cells, or freeze/unfreeze and merge/split columns and rows. Additionally, there is also a new Cells button when you select a cell with several options inside. You can also alter borders and format dates and numbers.
The company says that it has also made few under-the-hood stability and speed enhancements.
Android users can grab the latest version of Google Drive from Play Store for free.
