The Android Market has thousands of apps for your android devices but you can also install third party apps on any android phone which you can’t find in the Android Market. These third party applications come in the form of APK (abbreviation for ‘Android Package’). You can easily install these applications and make use of the innumerable third party applications for the android phones which are available today. Here is a simple guide as to how you can install these applications on your android phone.
Copy the APK files for the applications that you wish to install on your phone into the root directory in your phone’s memory card and insert it into your phone. Allow installation of non market applications in Settings. From Android Market place, find and install the app called App Installer. When you run this app you will be able to see the APK files that are in root directory of memory card.
Now select the one that you intend to install and confirm when prompted if you wish to install that particular app. The APK file will be installed on your phone and you’re good to go. You can access the application from your phone menu.
