Virgin Media has finally unveiled its TV Anywhere service for Android users. The app, already available on iOS for more than a year, is a cloud-based service that lets users to watch live TV over cellular data/WiFi network.
Besides watching live TV, you are also allowed to manage your recordings on the go, and browse, search, find and share the content you are currently watching as well.
To make changes, the company has added additional 9 channels to its mix. This brings 90 channels to the Web and 67 channels to the tablets & smartphones. The count is more than Sky Go (rival service), reports Virgin Media.
The Virgin Media TiVo users can use the app for free, but it is only viewable when connected to the internet connection. As the app lets you control your TiVo box, you will be able to set anything you miss to record for watching later.
In addition, users can review recommendations and can use their device as a TV remote with the app.
Moreover, the company says that the version works with wide range of Android devices, but it has not been optimized for the latest KitKat firmware. This is quite disappointing for those who use an Android device of v4.4.
