A New RSS App Unread Hits iOS Platform

A new app called Unread has recently been dropped on the Apple App Store. This is an RSS app for iPhone, which offers a full-screen appropriate reading experience for navigating through the unread content in your FeedWrangler, Feedbin, or Feedly account.

The app features articles in full-screen mode in elegant fonts. Moreover, navigating the app is quite simple. Just sweep your thumb to move anywhere within the app. The app’s anomalous navigation was developed from scratch to deliver the most cozy interface that users have ever used.

Just flick left-to-right in order to go back from anywhere on the screen and tug the screen right-to-left in order to reveal options for that particular screen; this exactly works like pull-to-refresh functionality, but sideways.

The also provides the best way to share your articles to multiple services, thanks to its collaboration with OvershareKit, which is an open source sharing library available for iOS users within the app.

The app also has the following features:

  • Support for background refresh: This functionality keeps your subscriptions up to date. The photos and articles are saved to your iPhone for offline reading.
  • Ability to share your stuff: You can send your desired articles to Readability, Instapaper, Pocket, or even to your Reading List. And share articles through Twitter or App.net with as-you-type syntax highlighting, automatic smart quotes, and swipe gesture shortcults for the cursor.
  • Quick Access: You can now double tap on any article summary in order to toggle read/unread status instantly. And press and hold to reveal a list of options. This is indeed great to share content quickly or to jump directly to the web in order to view the original article.
  • Features linked-lists.
  • Features big thumbnails: You can enable the optional inline thumbnails to view bigger previews of article images while you scroll.
  • Features footnote popovers.
  • Includes persistent web browser.
  • 100% voice over coverage and accessibility.

iOS users can download the Unread app right from the link provided below. The app works with iPhone and iPod touch that run on iOS version 7.0 or above.
