The smart podcast app on iOS, Castro has today been overhauled with a handful of new features and fixes, including the support to subscribe your desired podcasts directly from the URL copied to clipboard.
The major addition in the update is the feed URL support, most-requested feature by users. Now, users will be able to use this new URL subscription interface that allows them to subscribe to a podcast whose URL link has been copied to clipboard.
Users can also download episodes manually over mobile data connection even if they turned off to automatic uploads. Moreover, you will now encounter larger cache size options. The update also allows users to pull-to-refresh on the Episodes tab even if it’s not featuring any episodes.
The app takes the advantage of search result artwork if podcast feed is lacking artwork. In addition, you can now disable sound effects.
Furthermore, the update brings the following bug fixes:
- Resolves a layout issue that causes annoyance when tapping into a podcast from search results.
- Fixed an issue which could prevent sending download notifications sometimes.
- Resolved an error where downloads found when on mobile data network weren’t getting downloaded when the device is connected to WiFi network.
- Resolved an issue that could result in data loss if you tried to play the content from the lock screen after you restart your device.
