Dark Sky, the unique down-to-the-minute weather app on iOS, has received a notable revamp with iOS 7-inspired design and few new interesting features.
Now the app’s new interface is in line with the visual style of iOS 7. The interface is simple, flat, and translucent. The brand-new design puts the most prominent information, the current weather conditions on the front and center. Moreover, the graph plot of the upcoming precipitation is also available at a glance on the app’s main page.
In addition, the revamp also brings a slew of new features. All of the features, which are powered by Forecast, make the app a more efficient one.
Though the app has got a new design, it still has much of the same information as the former version. The app still displays the current temperature as well as the conditions together with a nifty graph of precipitation for over the next 60 minutes, which is perfect down to the minute. The company says that they have also added a couple of significant additions like ‘feels like’ temperature, serves as an indicator that features whether it’s getting colder/hotter, and also the distance to the nearest storm.
The app also displays pressure, visibility, wind, and humidity data when you click on the current conditions circle. The latest version of the app also features extended 24-hour and 7-day weather forecasts.
The company says that in learning how users use the weather apps, it has become much clear that the next 24 hours is highly important. So most of the screen has been dedicated to a complete breakdown of what’s going to happen in the next 24 hours. Users will encounter a quick text summary, along with a timeline of temperature, cloud cover, and precipitation. Moreover, you will also be able to view low and high temperatures, and the sunset and sunrise time, the company adds.
Another screen is dedicated to a day-by-day breakdown of the next week. When you click on a day or swipe over a day, you will get additional weather forecasts for the day. Moreover, the update includes new global weather maps, which allow users to explore weather patterns on a clutter-free 3D globe that has temperature and temperature layers.
