Facebook has updated its native iOS app to version 6.4. The update is packed with a slew of new features and improvements.
Firstly, Facebook app has got support for hashtags. Users can now search for hashtags and directly click on them when they view them in posts. You can also discover what others are discussing about a topic within the app.
Furthermore, Facebook has integrated with OpenTable to allow users to make restaurant reservations right away from Pages. For this, OpenTable account is not mandatory, you can use the feature even if you do not have an account, but you can only make reservations at those restaurants that participate with OpenTable in the U.S.
Simply visit a restaurant’s page, select a time and date, and specify your party size to get a list of available restaurants. Then you can book your table from the available list. It’s also easy to cancel a booked meal. All you can do with a couple of taps!
The app has also received enhancements specific to iPad. The app has a cleaner design for timelines and loads faster than the previous version.
Here’s the complete changelog of the new version:
- Ability to search for hashtags or click on them in posts to view what others are saying about a topic.
- The U.S people can make restaurant reservations from Pages.
- iPad version has got a cleaner design for timelines and faster loading.
- Rectified an issue that was causing some people to view red notifications badges when there weren’t any notifications.
