A new messaging app has been launched for iOS users and this latest addition to the app store is called Talko. Its version for the Android app store too is in the making and will be launched in the next few months.
What’s special and different about this app is that it sends the equivalent of text messages in the form of a spoken word. It is an attempt at bringing back voice to messages and communication. The idea here is that Talko app users can record a voice message and send it to anyone who too has downloaded Talko on his/her phone. The message can be listened by the recipient at anyone he/she feels is suitable and convenient rather being interrupted like in the case of a traditional phone call.
Talko stores all messages for duration of 10 days but if users wish to store the messages permanently, they would have to buy a paid subscription for $5 to $9 per month. For the first few months though, the app will store all messages for free. Users of this app can also record their messages for more than one person at a time and this feature will be useful in working organizations.
