The company has done quite a great work on the home screen of the app. Slate has removed the carousel from the home screen, enlarged images for better view and now features the most recent stories on the home screen by using the parallax effects. The stories that were in the carousal are now on the “Featured List” section of the improved app.

The new color scheme of the app has improved too. The sections that used to be maroon on the app are now white and those sections that were white are now in maroon color. This change has made the app not only look appealing and cleaner but also easy to read and navigate.
