Squrl, the highly entertaining video app has been updated to the version 3.0. This update brings a new look along with easy viewing and browsing experience.
Now the latest version that also works on the Apple TV, provides a new home screen and puts the categories or the content that are most essential on the app’s front page. Now, you will have 9 different options on the home screen, featuring What’s Hot and Featured videos, and also the channels, recommendations and what you have liked, saved or watched.
The update also brings an improved recommendations functionality. Now the app not only provide recommendations based on what you watch, save or like, but it also considers your Twitter and Facebook connections like, and also what other people with similar interests are watching. The app cleverly looks at the users interests to understand what they want to watch, according to the Squrl CEO Gray.
The typography has been made bigger enough to view icons clearly to click on. Once you click on an icon, that particular icon modifies dynamically to highlight the content that you will view in that section. Cosmetic modifications has also been made to navigate throughout the app without any difficulty. The app now integrates both the search and customize options in order to customize the channels from inside that screen.
With this update, the company has made the app more social. It has always been simple to users to share their favorites with their buddies on Twitter and Facebook, and now they can even share the content and communicate with one another within the app. The update also comes with an enhanced Find Friends feature within the app, and lets private chat in order to help users to share their videos and chat privately with one another.
Now the app also provides access to the videos from several live as well as top aggregators, including Hulu, YouTube, Netflix and so on.
