Twitter for iOS and Android Gets New Design and Support for Sharing Images Via DMs

Twitter has launched a major update for its official app for iOS and Android. The revamp brings a new design with improved look and feel in addition to a slew of new features.

First up, the app now sports a completely new interface that includes an enhanced navigation bar with 3 different timelines, Home, Activity, and Discover. You can simply swipe between them in Timelines tab.

The first one ‘Home’ is nothing new, it offers the same Twitter experience as before. Whereas the next 2 options mainly centers on providing you a glimpse of the tweets that you might be interested in. You can also choose to get replies and see favorites and retweets from only those whom you follow.

Another major addition in the update is enhanced Direct Messages functionality. Now accessing DMs is a breeze with a new tab available within the navigation bar. Moreover, you can also send and receive pictures through DMs. Unfortunately, web version doesn’t support sending pictures via DM, but users can still view them.

Moreover, the update also brings an improved search functionality. You can now easily get access to the tweets from the people you follow and from the people who’s near you right from the search results.

Finally, the app has received support for Safari Reading List. This new feature enables you to save your desired web content to access later.
