Uber has rolled out a remarkable update to its ride-sharing app for iOS. The latest version of the app brings a couple of improvements, including support for Push Notifications.
The major addition in the update is the support for push notifications. In specific, this feature has been added as a replacement to the text messages to deliver significant updates about your trips.
In a recent blog post, the company has explained that they know the reason users use the Uber service is that users have got places to visit and people to see. The company has also said that they will stay true to their pledge to get users the fastest ride available, and at times that will need gush pricing to get more drivers on the road. However, at those times when a user’s schedule is flexible, he/she can set out for a ride that is as reasonable as it is reliable, the team adds.
With the latest update, you will be able to choose to get notification if surge pricing at your current location is scheduled to end within half an hour with the app’s latest push-enabled Surge Drop feature. While the Surge Drop feature is believed to roll out to the majority of the cities within this week.
The revamp also integrates PayPal as an alternative payment option, but it is only available for U.K users. PayPal integration was initially launched in the U.S., Netherlands, Germany, France, and Italy last November. Moreover, the update also includes localization tweaks.
