YouTube Updates Its Android and iOS Apps with Picture-in-Picture Functionality and More

YouTube has just launched an update for its iOS and Android apps. The update brings a couple of new significant features to users.

The most interesting feature in the update is picture-in-picture functionality. This feature allows users to watch a video while browsing for another one.

Like the old PIP technology, you can minimize the currently watching video to the bottom-right of the screen by swiping down, and then go to the major portion of the screen to browse through other videos. If you find something interesting, just tap on that file and it will be played instantly, interrupting your former video.

Additionally, the update also brings a new ‘play all’ button, which appears when you search for playlists. This option makes it much easier to enjoy the complete collection of videos.

The update also brings enhancements to Chromecast experience. Now you can encounter a preview screen on your smart device while a video is being played on Chromecast or other smart devices that supports this feature. This makes it much smoother to queue up more videos for later on.

In addition, the android version has got a new cleaner design. The main navigation has been modernized as a slide-out navigation that looks much cleaner than ever before. Moreover, the landscape mode has also been refreshed so that, by default, videos will not stop you from searching through other video clips.

Android and iOS users can download the latest version of YouTube app from Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. You can grab it for free.
